white powder, slightly odorous, astringent and slightly sour. Soluble in water, in ethanol, chloroform, ether, acetone almost insoluble. Melting Point 204~206 °c (decomposition). It can make fibrinogen into insoluble fibrin, and can make more platelets rupture, release thromboplastin, accelerate blood coagulation. It is a new synthetic hemostatic agent.
